The Bangladeshi government should push for duty and quota free access to the US – the biggest global clothing importing country, attendees of a dialogue on upcoming world Trade Organisation (WTO) Ministerial: Challenges for Bangladesh said.They strongly lobbied for political action on part of the Government for getting duty and quota free access to the US markets during the forum organized at a City Convention centre by the national think-tank – Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD).While presenting a keynote paper during the dialogue session, an eminent fellow of the CPD, Debapriya Bhattacharyya said that Bangladesh should now start concentrating on “second-generation” issues ahead of duty preferences including rules of origin, non-tariff measures and other regulations.
